Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, the feeling of being tired all the time, has been affecting many. Maybe you can even relate?

Research has discovered that acupuncture may be able to relieve its symptoms when combined with other treatments.

The world is currently very off script. We have spent 2 years living very different isolated lives. Those who have suffered from Covid can find that long after the virus has passed, they still lack the energy, concentration and motivation they once had. I’m seeing “long Covid” patients who still suffer from fatigue, lack of focus and exhaustion even months after the infection.

Even with the Covid restrictions easing here in England, we now have the added worry of war on our continent. This is causing stress, anxiety and feelings of hopelessness and loss, which can affect us deep to our core and contribute to the effects of “Burn Out”. Being stuck in this fight or flight state pushes our adrenal glands to go on overdrive and ultimately can cause fatigue.

The Traditional Chinese Medicine approach to treating Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is to rebalance and boost the “Qi”, our life energy. During a consultation I will ask questions about all aspects of your medical history, life and work. Through these assessments as well as looking at diet, sleep and other activities that take up your time and valuable energy I can tailor an effective treatment to start balancing your emotional wellbeing and increasing your Qi.

Acupuncture is believed to address chronic fatigue by stimulating the nervous system and in turn releasing neurotransmitters. This has been shown to affect areas of the brain known to reduce sensitivity to stress and pain, promoting relaxation and better sleep.
